Participation in Afternoon Activities
We like to encourage all students from standard 1-7 to participate in at least one activity. While we do not wish to overload our students, these activities are an extension of the curriculum and offer students the opportunity to participate, develop their physical and social skills and self esteem, while having fun.
Infant Afternoon Activities for
Standard 1 and Standard 2
Each term we continue to offer a varied and engaging programme for afternoon activities.Your child will be given the opportunity to experience computers, ball skills, challenges and many more. These activities are from 2.00 pm until 4.00 pm on a Monday and your child is required at school for that period of time.
Junior Afternoon Activities for
Standard 3 to Standard 7
Junior activities are scheduled each term, according to the season. There is a wide choice of activities throughout the year supervised and coached by Northside staff.
Some of the Afternoon Activity Choices Include:
Swimming, Cricket, Soccer, Tennis, Netball, Softball, Marimbas, Choir, French, Drama, Chess, Computers, Orchestra, Violin, Art and Craft....and many more.Library Afternoon Opening Times.
Monday and Wednesday 12.30 - 3.30pm
Tuesday 12.30 - 2pm
Friday 12.30 - 1.15pm
Reception and Standard 1 students need to be accompanied by a parent when borrowing books from the library after school. The library facility can be used by children during the afternoon for research, changing books and doing homework while waiting for their parents.
Private Extra Mural Activities
The private activities on offer at Northside are extensive. We provide the facilities for the activities for the convenience of our parents and students.Parents must ensure that they know exactly what the programme/activity is that they are enrolling their child into. Parents must understand the expectation of the instructors, know exactly what equipment is needed, know whether their child is working towards specific performances, external exams, competitions, inter-school events etc.
This is your responsibility. Please make the time in the course of the school term to speak to the instructors to find out exactly how your child is progressing in the activity.
If your child attends a private activity, the instructor will be responsible for him/her.
Some of the activities on offer privately include;
Karate, Drama, Violin, Tennis, Swimming, Dance, Gymnastics.....and many more.
